One of our personal favorite Yirgacheffes; both wonderfully floral and fruity at once, all captured in a clean cup. The nose nearly tea-like, with soft notes of bergamot, citrus blossom and soft blueberry. In the cup, this coffee is characterized by its crisp, clean mouth feel, where flavors of ceylon, assam, baker’s chocolate, and gentle citrus come forward, lingering in a pleasantly moderate finish. 12 ounce bag.

Our acquisition of this naturally processed Sidamo is a wonderful edition to the EXO portfolio. The Oromia features a strong nose, laden with blueberry, cashew, bittersweet chocolate, and the occasional punctuation of bergamot. In the cup, much of the bouquet remains, carried by a moderate mouthfeel, and, curiously, brings an added unmistakeable underbelly of banana. The finish is long, with smooth chocolates, and the cup cools kindly.

That’s right, folks! After months at our new location, 403 North Sixth Avenue, roasting our little hearts out, planning, and working with local businesses to help us realize our dream, eXo Roast Co. will officially open its showroom this Monday, May 21st. Part roasterie, part cafe, our new space is designed to showcase our coffees using multiple methods. We’ll have single origin espresso, Chemex, French press, manual drip, and coffee cuppings for every bean we have in the larder. Though eventually we’ll expand our hours, our initial open times will be from 7am to 3pm, Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. Stay tuned as we keep doing our best to raise the bar for Tucson coffee!

Our first signature espresso blend, the Wicked Carnival, is organic, and serves admirably both as an espresso blend as well as other extractions, such as drip coffee. It features a selection of Indonesian, Central, and South American coffees, all of which are hand selected by the roasters on a monthly basis. Unlike many espresso blends, the Wicked Carnival is a dynamic espresso blend, meaning that we alter bean selection and proportions to deliver a consistently amazing cup, as opposed to static blends, which may diminish in taste as the coffee harvesting cycles in various parts of the world come and go. The Wicked Carnival is a medium bodied espresso, showcasing the beans with a light roast profile, so the regional characteristics of the bean, as well as the processing methods, stand out. It produces significant creme, flecked, with a nose of honey, caramel, graham cracker, and light citrus fruits. In [...]
